The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh attraction at Disneyland follows the adventures of one honey loving bear… Winnie the Pooh. This dark-ride attraction is based on the 1977 film of the same name, which was based on the popular Winnie the Pooh books by A.A. Milne. A Winnie the Pooh ride had been in the works for Disneyland since the 1970’s, with plans for a version located in Fantasyland and then Mickey’s Toon Town both being shelved. Imagineers finally settled on the version of the ride we have today, which is located in Critter Country, opening in 2003.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – What You Need To Know
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is a family dark ride located in the Critter Country land of Disneyland Park. The Disneyland version of the attraction is unique from its other three counter parts in several notable ways. First, the ride vehicles are shaped like beehives instead of honey pots. After leaving the outdoor load area, the ride enters the Hundred Acre Wood where Pooh is found swinging by a balloon. From here the ride moves to the rain scene, Tigger scene, and then into Pooh’s bedroom. Next up is the Heffalumps and Woozles dream sequence before finishing at Pooh’s birthday celebration.
The whole ride is about three and a half minutes long. When complete, guests are exited into a Winnie the Pooh themed gift shop and character meet-and-greet area across from the exit of Splash Mountain.
The Best Time To Ride
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is sure to be a family favorite, a ride you’ll do every visit. That said, the attraction commonly doesn’t pull a large crowd at any time of the day. Generally speaking, however, the line for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh has a tendency to spike to upwards of 45 minutes whenever neighboring Splash Mountain has an unexpected issue. If the line is advertised at longer than about 20 minutes we advise trying again at a later time.
FastPass and Single Rider
Because of the family nature of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, neither FastPass nor Single Rider lines are offered. Rider Switch is also not available.
Interesting Trivia To Impress Your Friends

Each of the beehive ride vehicles is named after something Pooh themed. For example, one is named “Piglet”
The original budget for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was reported to be $30-million dollars.
There are four different versions of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. The Magic Kingdom version opened first, followed by Disneyland, then Hong Kong, and finally Shanghai.
Tokyo Disneyland features a ride named Pooh’s Honey Hunt, which is a full “E-Ticket” trackless dark ride experience far different than any of the other installations.
Pro Tip: Make sure you have downloaded the Disneyland app and check the wait time before heading over to Critter Country. If the app says more than 20 minutes or is Splash Mountain is listed as closed, we recommend waiting and trying again.
